PURPOSE: To improve water resistance without vulcanization retardation, by using a specified acid acceptor in the vulcanization of an unvulcanized halogen- contg. rubber compsn. contg. no thiazole type vulcanization accelerator for rubber. n CONSTITUTION: In the vulcanization of a halogen-contg. rubber (e.g. chlorinated polyethylene, fluororubber or chlorinated butyl rubber) contg. no thiazole type vulcanization accelerator for rubber, a hydrotalcite of the formula (wherein M 2+ is Mg, Zn; A n- is n anions; X ≥2, Z≤2; m is a positive number) or its calcined material is surface-treated with an anionic surfactant such as sodium stearate or sodium laurylbenzene sulfonate and then is used as an acid acceptor to improve water resistance of the halogen-contg. rubber. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1983,JPO&Japio |
