titleOfInvention Production of of polyester fiber
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fibers having improved dyeability with prevented fluffs and yarn sway in heating, by heat-treating melt spun highly oriented undrawn polyester fibers without winding, cooling the heat-treated fibers to the second order transition temperature or below, and drawing the cooled fibers at a specific ratio. n CONSTITUTION: A polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as main repeating units is melt spun to give ≥0.025 birefringence (Δn) of the total fibers after the spinning under high orientation conditions. The resultant fibers are without winding subsequently heat-treated at 140°C or above without positively drawing the fibers, cooled to the second order transition temperature or below and then drawn at a ratio up to the breaking limit of the yarns. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1983,JPO&Japio
