titleOfInvention Preparation of easily dyeable polyester fiber
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fibers having improved dyeability with a basic dye and pilling resistance, by heat-treating fibers having ethylene terephthalate units as main repeating units, and a specific amount of sulfonate groups in the main chain under relaxed conditions, and drawing the heat-treated fibers. n CONSTITUTION: Modified polyester fibers, e.g. polyethyene terephthalate, fibers copolymerized with 5-sodium sulfoisophthalate, having ethylene terephthalate units as main repeating units and 0.5W10 sulfonate groups based on 100 repeating units in the metallic salt form in the main chain and a birefringence (Δn) of 0.01W 0.1 are heat-treated at 120°C or above and the melting point of below at the constant length or under relaxed conditions ≤40% and then drawn at 170°C or below to give the aimed fibers. The draw ratio is preferably 0.5W0.8 of the maximal draw ratio. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
