NEW MATERIAL:N-(3-Mercapto-2-methylpropionyl)-indoline-2-carboxylic acid of formula and its salt. n EXAMPLE: N-[3-Mercapto-2(S)-methylpropionyl]-indoline-2(R)-carboxylic acid. n USE: Hypotensor. It has extremely strong activity to inhibit angiotensin-I converting enzyme. n PROCESS: A mixture of four stereo-isomers of the compound of formula or N-[3- mercapto-2(S)-methylpropionyl]-1-indoline-2(R)-carboxylic acid is prepared e.g. by reacting indoline 2(R)-carboxylic acid ester with 3-acetylthio-2(S)-methylpropionyl chloride, and then hydrolyzing the reaction product. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio |
