titleOfInvention Ester derivative of deoxyfluorouridine
abstract NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (R and R' are H, halogen, methyl; n is 3,4). n EXAMPLE: 3-Benzoyl-2'-deoxy-3', 5'-di-O-n-pentanoyl-5-fluorouridine. n USE: Antitumor agent. n PREPARATION: 2-Deoxy-3', 5'-di-O-alkylcarbonyl-5-fluorouridine of formula II and a benzoyl halide of formula III(hal is halogen) are made to react at a molar ratio of 1 to (1W3) in an organic solvent such as ether to produce the compound of formula I wherein the presence of an organic base such as puridine is pyridine is preferred. The amount of the base is 1W5mol based on 1mol of the compound of formula III. The reaction temperature is an ice-cooling one to the boiling point of the solvent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
