titleOfInvention Production of synthetic fiber
abstract PURPOSE: Synthetic fiber, which is composed of polyester and another resin which has higher solubility in alkali than that of the polyester, a specific contact angle and contains an alkali-soluble substance dispersed therein, is treated with alkali to produce synthetic fiber of high water and moisture absorption, because it has fine pores of special structure. n CONSTITUTION: Synthetic fiver that is composed of (A) polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate and (B) a thermoplastic resin which has higher solubility in alkali than that of component A and less than 70° contact angle with water such as polyethylene terephthalate copolymer containing sodium 3,5-di(carbomethoxy)benzenesulfonate where a compound soluble in aqueous alkali is dispersed in component B such as sodium caproate, is treated with aqueous alkali to form fine pores arranged in the fiber axis direction and opened to the fiber surface mostly, thus producing the objective fiber. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
