abstract PURPOSE: To provide a synthetic lubricating oil having excellent viscosity index, flash point and pour point, and composed of an ethylene.α-olefin copolymer having specific ethylene content, number-average molecular weight, Q-value, etc. n CONSTITUTION: An ethylene.α-olefin copolymer having an ethylene content of 30W70mol%, a number-average molecular weight of 300W2,000, a Q-value (ratio of weight-average molecular weight to number-average molecular weight) of ≤3 and a statistical molecular weight distribution, is used as the objective synthetic lubricating oil.
