titleOfInvention Thermal recording material
abstract PURPOSE:To lower the color-developing temperature and thereby obtain a picture whose color is developed with high density, by incorporating a specific malonic ester in a thermal color-developing layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal color-developing layer containing colorless or light- colored leuco dye and acid material which develops the color of the leuco dye by heating, such as organic phenolic material, is incorporated a compound shown by the formula (wherein Ar is benzene or naphthalene ring substituted by methyl, ethyl, OH, methoxy, ethoxy, propoxy, butoxy, benzyloxy, Cl or Br, or unsubstituted; R1 is alkyl or C1-6; R2 and R3 are H, methyl or ethyl). The heat- sensitive material thus obtained afford a picture whose color is developed with sufficiently high density, without generation of adhesive refuse on a thermal head, without any sticking phenomenon and with excellent running property of the thermal head.
