titleOfInvention Stabilization of polymerization reaction solution
abstract PURPOSE: To deactivate a catalyst, to stop a(side) reaction, and to stabilize a polymerization reaction solution without separation the catalyst and precipitating a deposit, by polymerizing an olefin or diene in the presence of a Ziegler catalyst to give a low-molecular polymer, followed by adding an anine to it. n CONSTITUTION: An olefin or diene is polymerized singly or copolymerized in the presence of a Ziegler catalyst of uniform system consisting essentially of a nickel compound and an organoaluminum compound to give a polymer, to which an amine (e.g., methylamine, 2-ethylhexylamine, etc.) is added, so that the polymerization reaction solution is stabilized without separating the catalyst. An amount of the amine is twice or more the equivalent of the nickel compound and the organoaluminum compound. A deposit will not occur, when the reaction solution thus stabilized is allowed to stand for a long time. The uniform state is maintained during distillation, no side effect resulting from the catalyst ingredient contained in a soluble state will take place, to collect the desired compound smoothly. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
