abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a highly streoregular olefin polymer, by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a solid titanium trichloride complex catalyst and a specific organoaluminum compound. n CONSTITUTION: An olefin is polymerized in the presence of (a) a solid titanium trichloride complex catalyst with an atomic ratio of aluminum to titanium ≤0.15, preperably ≤0.02, comprising a complexing agent and (b) an organoaluminum compound of the formula AlR'nCl 3-n (R' is n-propyl or n-hexyl group; n is 1.95W 2.10), except di-n-propylaluminum monochlorides, as a cocatalyst.
