titleOfInvention Crosslinked polyethylene resin composition
abstract PURPOSE:To prepare the title composition having high water-treeing resistance, esp. bow tie-treeing resistance, by crosslinking a composition obtained by adding a specific phenolic compound and a methane compound as antioxidants to polyethylene or an ethylene copolymer containing a crosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective crosslinked composition is prepared by crosslinking a composition composed of (A) 100pts.wt. of polyethylene or an ethylene copolymer, (B) (e.g. 0.1 part of) 4-4'-thio-6-tert-butyl-3-methyl-3-methylphenol, (C) (e.g. 0.2 part of) tetrakis[methylene-(dodecylthiopropionate)]methane, (D) (e.g. 25 parts of) a crosslinking agent, and if necessary, (E) a lubricant, colorant, etc. The (B) and (C) components act as an antioxidant in combination.
