titleOfInvention Preparation of mitomycin derivative
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a mitomycin derivative useful as germicides, detergents, or drugs, having a wide range of antimicrobial activity, by culturing a microorganism capable of producing a specific compound, belonging to the genus of Streptomyces in a nutrient medium. n CONSTITUTION: A microorganism (e.g. Streptomyces casspitosus ATCC27422) capable of producing the above-mentioned compound shown by the formula is cultured by a conventional cultivation of actinomycetes. Namely, a medium having a carbon and nitrogen sources, inorganic matters, and, if necessary, a proper amount of other nutrient source is used as a medium for culture. The culture is done by shaking cultivation or by aerating cultivation in deep part with stirring under aerobic conditions. The culture is carried out usually at 25W35°C and the pH of the medium in cultivation is about 6W8. The desired compound can be prepared from the culture solution having finished its cultivation by a conventional method used for the purification of antibiotics. For example, 10-dicarbamoyloxy- dihydromitomycin B can be cited as the compound shown by the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
