titleOfInvention Decomposition method of halogen-containing organic compounds
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing a halogen-containing organic compound which can decompose and detoxify a halogen-containing organic compound efficiently and safely. SOLUTION: The halogen-containing organic compound is dehalogenated by reacting the halogen-containing organic compound with a hydrogen donor and an alkali agent in the presence of a metal catalyst. Hydrogen obtained by decomposing water using light energy is used as the hydrogen donor, or an alcohol is used as the hydrogen donor and a metal hydride is used as the alkaline agent.
