(57) Abstract: An active material powder comprises: nickel hydroxide-containing base particles; a coating inner layer made of yttrium, scandium, or lanthanoid, or a compound thereof; It is composed of composite particles comprising an inner layer and a coated outer layer made of cobalt or a cobalt compound. The present invention provides a non-sintered nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery that exhibits a high active material utilization rate not only when charged at room temperature but also when charged under a high temperature atmosphere. |
