(57) Abstract: Provided is a recombinant DNA having a DNA sequence that is highly expressed in Escherichia coli among base sequences encoding a protein having transglutaminase activity. A method for highly expressing a protein having a transglutaminase sequence as an inactive inclusion body in cells by culturing a transformant transformed with the recombinant DNA, a method of adding an N-terminal methionine to be added to the expressed transglutaminase. A method for producing a protein having transglutaminase activity by removing the denaturing agent after recovering the inclusion body from the cells, solubilizing the same using a denaturing agent, and the like. [Effect] By a genetic engineering technique, it becomes possible to mass-produce a protein having a transglutaminase activity. |
