titleOfInvention | Compositions and methods for inhibiting thrombus formation |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention provides compositions and methods for inactivating thrombin bound to fibrin in a thrombus or clot. This substantially reduces or eliminates the ability of thrombin bound to the clot to catalytically promote further addition of the clot. The compositions and methods of the present invention are useful in preventing cardiac thrombosis in patients undergoing renal dialysis, as well as in circuits of cardiac bypass devices, and for cardiovascular pathological conditions associated with thrombus (eg, unstable angina). Particularly useful for treating patients who have or are at risk of suffering from acute disease, acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), cerebrovascular accident (stroke), pulmonary embolism, deep arterial thrombosis, arterial thrombosis, etc. is there. |
