abstract | (57) [Summary] 1,5-Dioxaspiro [4,5] decane-type cyclic acetals having 1 to 4 alkyl substituents on the dioxane ring have functional properties (for example, Acetals are useful as fragrances). The alkyl groups each have 1-4 carbon atoms, provided that the total number of carbon atoms in all alkyl groups does not exceed 7. Preferably, the cyclic acetal should have at least one alkyl group at the 4-position. A particularly preferred cyclic acetal is 3,3-dimethyl-4-isopropyl-1,5-dioxaspiro [4,5] decane. |
