abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline storage battery in which a positive electrode active material has a high utilization rate and which can maintain the high utilization rate even in a long-term charge / discharge cycle as a battery. SOLUTION: Co (OH) 2 having a BET specific surface area of 20 to 30 m 2 / g obtained by a neutralization reaction between an aqueous cobalt salt solution and an aqueous alkaline solution in the presence of a reducing agent is wetted with an aqueous alkaline solution, and then exposed to an air atmosphere. A substance converted into cobalt oxyhydroxide by heat treatment under the above is used as a conductive agent of the positive electrode active material. |
