titleOfInvention Nickel-hydrogen secondary battery
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery excellent in both self-discharge characteristics and charge-discharge cycle life characteristics. SOLUTION: Nickel formed by enclosing an electrode group 5 in which a separator 3 made of synthetic resin fiber is interposed between a nickel electrode 2 and a hydrogen storage alloy electrode 4 together with an alkaline electrolyte in a battery can 1. In the hydrogen secondary battery, the separator 3 is subjected to the plasma treatment, and the active material of the nickel electrode 2 is formed on the powder mainly composed of nickel hydroxide and on a part or all of the surface thereof. A nickel-metal hydride secondary battery comprising a cobalt higher oxide.
