abstract (57) [Solution] A polyphenylene ether resin is fed to an extruder, deaerated under reduced pressure while melt-kneading, a styrene resin is supplied, water is added while melt-kneaded, and then depressurized further. A method for removing volatile components of a polyphenylene ether-based resin composition, wherein the method comprises obtaining a resin composition having a small amount of volatile components, wherein the cylinder setting temperature is set to a specific temperature. [Effect] There is an effect of establishing a production method capable of simultaneously reducing the amount of volatile components derived from polyphenylene ether resin and the amount of decomposed styrene-based resin generated by decomposing polystyrene, which could not be achieved by the conventional method. .
