titleOfInvention Method for manufacturing glass substrate for information recording medium and method for manufacturing information recording medium
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method of manufacturing a glass substrate for an information recording medium and the like, which can prevent foreign matters such as minute iron powder from adhering to a glass substrate. In a method for manufacturing a glass substrate for an information recording medium, a glass substrate is washed with hydrochloric acid. Further, in a step before or after the chemical strengthening step of the glass substrate, the glass substrate is washed with hydrochloric acid. Thus, iron contamination and the like adhering to the glass substrate are removed.
