titleOfInvention Method for producing 1-ethyl-5-hydroxypyrazole
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel process for producing 1-ethyl-5-hydroxypyrazole which is useful as an intermediate of an active compound of a pesticide, especially a herbicide. I do. SOLUTION: 1-ethyl-5-hydroxypyrazole of the present invention is obtained, for example, by adding 1 to 10-fold molar amount of ethylhydrazine to 3-methoxyacrylic acid methyl ester and reacting in a weakly basic aqueous solvent. It can be obtained by completing and concentrating under reduced pressure to remove ethylhydrazine, followed by salting out and isolation.
