SOLUTION: The ratio I of the CaS (200) plane X-ray diffraction peak intensity I 2 to the CaGa 2 S 4 (400) plane X-ray diffraction peak intensity I 1 appearing in the X-ray diffraction spectrum of the CaGa 2 S 4 : Ce light emitting layer. 2 / I 1 is set to 0.1 or less. As a result, the amount of CaS existing as an impurity in the light emitting layer is suppressed to a certain amount or less, the green EL light emitting component due to CaS: Ce is reduced, and the blue purity can be improved. Moreover, SrGa 2 S 4 (42) which appears in the X-ray diffraction spectrum of the Ca 1 -P Sr p Ga 2 S 4 : Ce light emitting layer 2) CaS (20 with respect to the plane X-ray diffraction peak intensity I 3 0) plane X-ray diffraction peak intensity I 2 ratio I 2 / I 3 is 0.1 The blue purity can be similarly improved in the following cases.
