abstract (57) [PROBLEMS] To provide Ce-Zr oxide solid solution particles having a large average surface area of crystallites and a large specific surface area, while enhancing the oxygen storage capacity by increasing the solid solubility. SOLUTION: A precipitate is obtained by adding a surfactant and an alkaline substance to an aqueous solution in which Ce and Zr are dissolved, and the precipitate is heated to cause zirconia to form a solid solution in ceria with a solid solubility of 50% or more. And the average diameter of the crystallite is 100 n An oxide solid solution particle having a particle size of m or less is produced.
