abstract |
(57) [Summary] [Structure] A microorganism belonging to the genus Rhodococcus having the allyl position-oxidizing ability of valencene and a method for producing nootkatone characterized by allowing the microorganism to act on valencene. [Effects] According to the present invention, nootkatone can be selectively produced from valencene without causing various side reactions as seen in the chemical synthesis reaction. Further, unlike the conversion reaction of enterobacteria to nootkatone reported so far, it is possible to produce nootkaton without concern about pathogenicity. |
