titleOfInvention Liquid crystal display electrode structure
abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] The tilted vertical alignment of liquid crystal molecules can be stabilized over the entire pixel to widen the viewing angle, display with good contrast can be obtained, and it can be manufactured by a simple process. A liquid crystal display device is provided. In the ECB type liquid crystal display device, a slit-shaped opening 3 that is long in the direction along the signal-side stripe electrode 2 is provided in the scanning-side stripe electrode 1, and a scanning-side stripe electrode 1 is provided in the signal-side stripe electrode 2. A slit-shaped opening 4 that is long in the direction along is provided for each picture element. The tilted alignment of the liquid crystal molecules 5 is controlled by the oblique electric field generated at the edge of the opening 3 (portion A) and the oblique electric field generated at the edge of the opening 4 (portion B).
