abstract |
A multi-domain liquid crystal display device with first and second substrates surrounding a layer of liquid crystal. Grid bus lines (1) and data bus lines (3) on the first substrate define pixel regions. A common auxiliary electrode (15) surrounds each pixel region on the same layer as that on which the grid bus line is formed. Then forming a gate insulator, a passivation layer and a pixel electrode; the pixel electrode has a window (51) for inducing an electric field in its internal part. On the second substrate, a light blocking layer, a color filter layer and a common electrode are formed. An alignment layer is formed on the first or second substrate. |
