titleOfInvention Fluorocarbon composition
abstract (57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide a fluorocarbon material having heat resistance, chemical resistance, and wetting characteristics which are superior to those of conventional fluorocarbon materials, and in particular, improved wetting characteristics. [Structure] A vapor composed of a compound containing fluorine and carbon, such as tetrafluoroethylene or hexafluorobenzene, is excited to decompose into fragments, and the fragments are condensed on a substrate to form a fluorocarbon solid, A fluorocarbon solid composition having a low fluorine to carbon ratio is produced by a chemical vapor deposition process. These vapors can be excited by various techniques including the hot filament method. Fluorocarbon solids are used in aircraft anti-icing, kitchen utensils, appliances, surgical tools, It is useful in chemical treatments, gaskets, seals, diaphragms, packings, valve seats, windings, release agent components, extruder coatings, medical prostheses and other similar non-wetting applications.
