titleOfInvention Production of polyester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester having excellent quality in high productivity by using a water-containing recovered 1,4-butanediol as a part of stock glycol and adjusting the water content in the total raw material to or below a prescribed level before the reaction. n CONSTITUTION: A polyester is produced by using a stock glycol composed mainly of 1,4-butanediol. In the above process, the water-containing 1,4-butanediol distilled and recovered in the production process is used as at least a part of the stock glycol and the amount of water in the total raw material composition is adjusted to ≤0.5 wt.% (preferably ≤0.3 wt.%). The water-content is preferably adjusted to ±0.03% of the present water-content level. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
