Provided is a method for stably producing a polyester having a target molecular weight (reduced viscosity) by reacting an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid obtained from biomass resources with a diol. An aliphatic dicarboxylic acid having a water content of 0.5 wt% or more and 5 wt% or less is used. The produced polyester preferably has a reduced viscosity (ηsp / c) of 1.4 dL / g or more and a terminal carboxyl group amount of 50 equivalents / ton or less. The aliphatic dicarboxylic acid is preferably succinic acid derived from biomass resources. [Selection] Figure 1 |
