PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition having excellent flame-retardance, moldable without generating harmful substances and suitable for OA apparatuses, etc., by compounding a phenolic resin to an ABS resin copolymerized with p-methylstyrene and a phosphate compound. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 40-96wt.% of a thermoplastic resin composed of (A 1 ) 0-70wt.% of a rubbery polymer (e.g. polybutadiene) and (A 2 ) 100-30wt.% of a polymer component composed of monomers selected from a nucleus-substituted methylated aromatic vinyl monomer (e.g. o-methylstyrene) and, as necessary, a nucleus-substituted hydroxyaromatic monomer, a (meth)acrylic acid ester, maleic anhydride, etc. with (B) 1-40wt.% of a thermosetting resin (e.g. epoxy resin) and (C) 3-40wt.% of a phosphate compound (e.g. trimethyl phosphate). The graft ratio of the component A is 10-150% in the case of using a rubbery polymer as a component. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
