abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a new benzyldiphenyl compound utilizable as a charge transport substance for photosensitive materials, photoreceptors or electroluminescent elements. n CONSTITUTION: A benzyldiphenyl compound expressed by formula I (Ar 1 , Ar 2 , Ar 3 and Ar 4 are alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, biphenyl or heterocyclic group which may respectively have substituent group; Ar 1 and Ar 2 and/or Ar 3 and Ar 4 together may form a ring; R 1 to R 3 are H, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen), e.g. a compound expressed by formula II.
