PURPOSE: To obtain characteristic similar to flexibility and load cushioning action and obtain a strong bonding to a living body bone and composite strength tolerable to practical use. n CONSTITUTION: One of previously manufactured rectangular parallelopiped pure titanium fiber meshes 1, 11 (the porosity is about 50%) is installed on the bottom of a previously manufactured metallic mold. Prepared PVA solution is poured in the mold, and one remaining mesh is coated thereon, and pressed by a forming machine, and then immediately the temperature of PVA solution is lowered using an instantaneous cooling spray so that only an intended portion in the upper and lower fiber mesh holes is impregnated with PVA solution. After that, it is put in a freezer and left standing to obtain gel PVA solution, and PVA hydrogel is solidified to the upper and lower pure titanium fiber meshes to obtain a block body 2. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
