NEW MATERIAL:An N-acetylneuraminic acid-compatible lectin which is lectin, obtained from Limulus polyphemus and reactive with N-acetylneuraminic acid without reacting with N-acetylaminosguar and N-glycolylneuraminic acid. n USE: A reagent for elucidating in vivo distribution of N-acetylneuraminic acid with ultrahigh specificity for the N-acetylneuraminic acid. n PREPARATION: A hemolymph of Limulus polyphemus is subjected to affinity chromatography using an N-acetylneuraminic acid-containing substance (e.g. human erythrocytic membrane sialoglycoprotein) as a ligand and an adsorbed fraction thereof is then separated and fractionated. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
