titleOfInvention Method for controlling disease injury of lawn with metallic copper or the like
abstract PURPOSE: To control disease injuries of lawn without any fear of environmental pollution by mixing a chip or fine granular material of copper or a copper-based substance such as copper wire, copper plate, chalcopyrite or chalcocite with joint soil or applying the aforementioned substance together with mineral spring water such as hot spring water to the lawn. n CONSTITUTION: Disease injuries of lawn such as golf courses, open lawn spaces or sports turfs are controlled. In the process, a chip or fine granular material of copper or a copper-based substance such as copper wire, copper plate, chalcopyrite or chalcocite is mixed with joint soil or, together with mineral spring water such as hot spring water, applied to the lawn and control the disease injuries. Acid radicals such as sulfate radicals or chloride radicals in natural organic acids or additionally applied hot spring water act on the copper according to the aforementioned method to slowly elute copper ions and stick to the lawn with low canopies. Thereby, the lawn is protected from invasion of snow mold fungi into lawn grass bodies and control effects on the disease injuries is exhibited. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
