PURPOSE: To obtain an immunostimulant containing an N-acetylmuramyl peptide derived from a lactobacillus having a sensitivity to a lysozyme, and stimulating an immunoresponse against Gram-negative enteropathogenic bacteria. n CONSTITUTION: This immunostimulant contains an N-muramyl peptide induced by hydrolyzing a peptidoglycan from cell walls of a lactobacillus (preferably Lactobacillus bulgaricus) having a sensitivity to a lysozyme, by the lysozyme (e.g. rennet, a lysozyme of the egg white). The immunostimulant is used as a fermented milk, especially in a yogurt or a whey product. The immunostimulant is obtained by inoculating a seed culture material of the lactobacillus having the sensitivity to the lysozyme on a milk or a synthetic medium such as a MRS medium, etc., incubating at 37-45°C for 3-6hr, then hydrolyzing the medium containing 10 6 -10 10 cells/ml lactobacillus by using 1-500μg/ml lysozyme at 15-37°C for 1-24hr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO |
