titleOfInvention Method for regenerating catalyst
abstract PURPOSE: To remove carbonaceous matter from a solid catalyst at a relatively low temp. and to regenerate the catalyst by making alcohol represented by a specified general formula coexist with the catalyst when the carbonaceous matter deposited on the catalyst is burned. n CONSTITUTION: When carbonaceous matter deposited on a solid catalyst such as a metal or metal oxide catalyst is burned in the air or in the presence of gas contg. molecular oxygen to regenerate the catalyst, alcohol represented by a general formula R-OH (where R is alkyl or hydroxyalkyl), e.g. methanol or ethanol is made to coexist with the catalyst. The deposited carbonaceous matter can be removed at a low temp. and the activity of the catalyst is restored. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
