abstract |
Ε-Caprolactam is produced in a high yield over a long period of time by controlling the reaction step and the catalyst regeneration step so that the sustainability of the catalyst performance is enhanced. SOLUTION: The reaction process includes a Beckmann rearrangement reaction of cyclohexanone oxime in the presence of a solid catalyst, and a catalyst regeneration process in which the solid catalyst used in the reaction process is heat-treated in an atmosphere containing an oxygen-containing gas. In the method for producing ε-caprolactam using the solid catalyst used in the reaction step, the carbon content in the solid catalyst in the reaction step and the catalyst regeneration step is kept at 0.5 to 2% by weight, and the nitrogen content is 0 0.01 to 0.2% by weight.
