abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title polyol useful as surfactant, etc., having extremely reduced viscosity and lowered degree of unsaturation by using a combined metal cyanide compound complex catalyst in the presence of a specific amount of organic solvent. n CONSTITUTION: In subjecting (A) monoepoxide to ring opening addition reaction to (B) an initiator containing at least one OH group in the presence of (C) a combined metal cyanide compound complex catalyst, the reaction is carried out in the presence of (D) ≤5wt.% of an organic solvent based on the prepared polyether to give the objective polyether.
