titleOfInvention | Aromatic copolyester |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a thermotropic arom. copolyester melt-processable at a relatively low temp., excellent in the mechanical strengths, and useful for an electric, electronic, and automotive material by preparing a copolymer contg. residues of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, dimethylbiphenyldicarbocylic acid, and hydroquinone as the structural units. n CONSTITUTION: An arom. copolyester melt-processable at 250-300°C comprises a liq. crystal polymer composed of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid residues of formula I (A), 3,3'-dimethylbiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid residues of formula II (B), and hydroquinon deriv. residues of formula III (wherein R is H, 1-8C alkyl, aryl, or halogen) (C) as the structural units, with the ratio of A to (A+B+C) of 1-90mol%, pref. 1-80mol%, still pref. 1-70mol%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
