titleOfInvention Solid imaging method using photohardenable material of self limiting thickness
abstract PURPOSE: To accurately form a three-dimensional object from a continuous layer of a photohardenble composition containing an ethylene unsaturated monomer having a second refractive index, an optical initiator and a radiation deflecting substance having a first refractive index by forming the composition to increase a difference between the first and second indexes by a specific value or more at the time of emitting a beam. n CONSTITUTION: The photohardenable liquid composition comprises an ethylene unsaturated monomer, an optical initiator and a radiation deflecting substance. The deflecting substance has a first refractive index, and a residue of the composition has a second refractive index. At the time of emitting the beam to the composition, a difference between the first and second indexes is increased by 0.01 or more. Thus, a layer of a photohardenable liquid is formed, exposed with an active radiation to photoharden a part of the layer, then a new layer of photohardenable liquid is introduced onto the exposed layer, exposed with the radiation to photoharden the part of the layer of the new liquid. Thus, an integral three-dimensional object can be accurately formed from the continuous layer of the photohardenable liquid composition. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
