abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the color turbidity of an image, to prevent a change of image density due to a change of temp. at the time of thermal development and to suppress the stain of the white ground by using a magenta dye forming polymer coupler contg. specified repeating units. n CONSTITUTION: This photosensitive material contains photosensitive silver halide, a reducing agent, a dye rendering substance, a binder, etc., and a (co)polymerized magenta dye forming coupler contg. repeating units derived from a monomer represented by formula I is used as the dye rendering substance. In the formula I, Ar is aryl or hetero-arom., R 1 is alkyl, aryl, etc., R 3 is hetero-arom., R 3 is H, alkyl, etc., each of X 1 and X 2 is hydrocarbon, each of J 1 and J 2 is -NHCO-, -COO-, etc., and each of g-n is 0 or 1.
