PURPOSE: To obtain an agent for preventing and treating digestive diseases, comprising a dihydrobenzofuran derivatives as an active ingredient, having gastric inhibitory action and useful for prevention or treatment of digestive diseases such as esophagitis regurgitica or stomach ulcer. n CONSTITUTION: This agent comprises a dihydrobenzofuran derivative of the formula (R 1 to R 2 are H, a lower alkyl or an acyl; dotted line is a single bond or a double bond) as an active ingredient. The compound of the formula is especially useful as an agent for preventing and treating gastrointestinal ulcer. The compound of the formula, e.g. dihydrodehydroconiferyl alcohol is obtained by extraction, etc., from Cedrus deodara which is a pinaceous plant. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO |
