abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the window material for the optical measuring instrument having excellent IR transmittability, heat resistant deformability, etc., by using a homopolymer or copolymer of an allyl carbonate compd. having ≥3 allyl carbonate groups in the molecule. n CONSTITUTION: The window material is constituted of the homopolymer of the allyl carbonate compd. having ≥3 allyl carbonate groups in the molecule or the copolymer of a monomer copolymerizable with the allyl carbonate compd. and the allyl carbonate compd. The mixing ratio of the allyl carbonate compd. and the monomer copolymerizable therewith is preferably such that the monomer copolymerizable with the allyl carbonate compd. is used in a range of ≤20pts. wt., more preferably ≤10pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. allyl carbonate compd. from the viewpoint of heat resistance deformability and spark resistance. The polymn. method is not particularly restrictive, for which the adoption of known polymn. methods is possible. The window material which has the excellent IR transmittability even at a high temp. of about 180°C, is not thermally deformed, and is not flawed even by incoming of sparks by welding, etc., is obtd. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
