abstract PURPOSE: To soften the touch of a catheter and to improve a wettability and maintenance of the catheter by producing a coating vehicle by dispersing a polymer material selected from the group of biomedical polyurethane, biomedical polysilicone, biodegradable polymer, and a mixture thereof, in at least one sort of solvent. n CONSTITUTION: A coating vehicle is produced by dissolving a biomedical polyurethane in at least one sort of solvent, and at least one sort of antibacterial agent is dissolved in a solvent miscible with a coating vehicle, the antibacterial agent solution is composed of the coating vehicle resulting to form a coating composition, applying the coating composition on a surface and drying the coating. At this time, when a chlorhexidine acetate is, solely or in combination with sulfadiazine silver, used as an antibacterial composition, the coating vehicle is arranged in a manner that polymer coating agent such as polyurethane for biomedical use is resolved in a specialized solution such as tetrahydrofuran(THF).
