abstract NEW MATERIAL:A class IgM human monoclonal antibody against castor seed toxic protein ricin and having a characteristic exhibiting antigen-recognition activity to ricin A chain or ricin B chain or ricin A chain and ricin B chain. n USE: A reagent for detecting ricin which is castor seed toxin. An antidote for ricinism. n PREPARATION: The objective monoclonal antibody can be produced e.g., by collecting human peripheral blood lymphocyte, infecting with Epstein-Barr virus, fusing the obtained transformed cell to an ouabain-resistant cell of mouse myeloma cell SP2 strain, culturing in HAT medium, selecting a clone capable of producing an antibody against castor seed toxic protein ricin, monoclonizing the obtained hybridoma by cloning and culturing the product in a medium. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
