titleOfInvention Dispersing agent for emulsion polymerization
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a dispersing agent for emulsion polymerization, composed of a polystyrenesulfonic acid salt having a specific sulfonation degree and produced by the sulfonation of a polystyrene having a specific average molecular weight, and capable of improving the stability of produced latex without obstructing the polymerization reaction. n CONSTITUTION: The objective dispersing agent for emulsion polymerization useful in the production of e.g. a synthetic rubber latex or synthetic resin emulsion is composed of a polystyrenesulfonic acid salt having a sulfonation degree of 0.45W0.75 and produced by the sulfonation of a polystyrene having an average molecular weight of 1,000W100,000 determined by GPC method. In the case of using said dispersing agent for emulsion polymerization, for example, 60W500 pts.wt. of water, 0.5W10pts.wt. of a surfactant or seed for emulsion polymerization and 0.5W10pts.wt. of the above dispersing agent for emulsion polymerization are used based on 100pts.wt. of the monomer (e.g. styrene or methyl acrylate). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
