PURPOSE:To attain improvements in lubricating and sealing properties and stability without causing separation from 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane as a cooling medium at low temps., by using a particular polyglycol oil as a base oil. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. base oil comprising a polyglycol oil having a pour point of up to -10 deg.C selected from a polyoxyalkylene glycol of formula I [wherein (a) is 5-50; and R1 is a 2-4 C alkylene provided that the ratio, alpha, of (the number of -OR1- groups wherein R1 is ethylene) to (a) per molecule is 0-0.8] which has a kinematic viscosity at 100 deg.C of 2-(10+120 alpha) cSt and a polyoxyalkylene glycol glycerol ether of formula II [wherein b-d satisfy 3-40.9<=b+c+d<=50; each of R2-R4 is R1 provided that the ratio, beta, of (the total number of -OR2-, -OR3- and -OR4- groups wherein each of R2-R4 is an ethylene group) to (b+c+d) per molecule is 0-0.8] which has a kinematic viscosity at 100 deg.C of 2-(10+120 beta cSt) is mixed with 0.1-5.0pts.wt. phosphate of formula III (wherein R5 is a 1-3 C alkyl; and e is 0-2). |
