Recombinant fusion proteins are disclosed. The fusion protein comprises (a) a CD55 peptide sequence, (b) a linker sequence on the C-terminal side of the CD55 sequence, (c) a transmembrane domain on the C-terminal side of the linker sequence, and (d) on the C-terminal side of the transmembrane domain. Contains the intracellular domain. The fusion protein does not contain a GPI anchor. The fusion protein may be expressed with an N-terminal secretory signal peptide, which is cleaved to yield the mature protein on the surface of the cell line or enveloped virus. Oncolytic viruses that express the fusion protein are resistant to complement inactivation and can be used to treat cancer. |
