PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting and quantitatively measuring a protein-protein interaction between proteins existing on the surface of various cells using a sensitive antibody-based assay. Antibodies specific for each target protein are directly labeled or detected by a labeled secondary antibody. The antibody is labeled with a detectable tag that is releasable when the target proteins are within close range of each other. Also provided are methods for facilitating the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of cancer using this assay to detect protein-protein interactions between target proteins of interest. Methods for screening test agents that affect protein-protein interactions are also provided. [Selection diagram] None |
